Can I eat the cookies even though I'm not vegan?
Yes, of course!
Anyone can eat our cookies and even benefit from them.
Many non-vegans may also lack important nutrients in their diet, if one doesn't consume a varied diet. Currently, in Switzerland alone 50% of the population has a Vitamin D deficiency.
Can I eat more than one naanu cookie a day?
One naanu cookie per day is enough to provide you with your requirement of Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D. However, if you eat up to 20 pieces per day you will be absolutely fine and you are not at any risk of side effects or overdose of vitamins (unless you are taking additional vitamin D supplements). However, to maintain a balanced vegan diet and prevent excess caloric intake, we recommend you enjoy less than 20 cookies a day!
Can’t I just make these cookies myself from the ingredients listed?
We wish it was that easy! Our ingredients go through a very lengthy process to make sure each naanu cookie has high levels of vitamins & minerals. If you were to mix all ingredients together and eat it like that you’d be lacking some very important nutrients. You can find more details to this on our Process Page.
Do naanu cookies contain any sugar?
Well, we have two versions of our cookies:
· one that contains a small amount of sugar, which is much less than "normal" commercial cookies, and
· one that contains no added sugar and is naturally sweetened with dates.
naanu cookies are also rich in fibres, which slow the absorption of sugars in the body and increases satiety.
Are naanu cookies organic?
All of our ingredients are 100% organic.
What about the packaging? Does it contain plastic?
Taking care of the environment is at the core of everything that we do. Which is why we are excited to tell you that all of our packaging is biodegradable.
How do you make the B12?
You know how companies like Coca-Cola keep their recipe very secret? Well, our process is our secret. What we can tell you is that our Vitamin B12 comes through our natural process using shiitake mushrooms.
Can I change the flavour in my naanu subscription?
Of course! We have lots of tasty options and want to make sure you can taste them all and change them any time. Just email us at email@example.com with your full name and let us know which new flavour you’d like!
Can I cancel my naanu subscription?
Of course... We'll be sad to see you go, but we understand things change. You can send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name and let us know that you’d like to cancel your subscription. We’ll send you a confirmation email as soon as we’ve cancelled your subscription.
Where are naanu cookies produced?
We’re currently located in Switzerland. Our production volunteers currently hand-make them in a certified vegan kitchen in Zurich.
Where does the Omega-3 fatty acids come from?
The Omega-3 is from our main ingredient of Chia seeds! They are such an incredible source of Omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid, ALA).
We also include poppy seeds in our new recipe that are full of Omega fatts.
Why is there no recommended value of Omega-3?
The European Food Safety Authority, hasn’t set the average requirement because of the lack of sufficient data. However the same society stated that an intake of 250 mg daily, same amount provided by one naanu cookie, may reduce the risk of heart diseases.
What process do you use for the ingredients?
We want to make sure that nothing nasty is added to our all-natural ingredients. Of course, we do want high levels of vitamins and minerals. That is why some of our ingredients go through quite a lengthy, yet natural process before they even get mixed together. You can read our Process Page for more details.
Are naanu cookies gluten-free?
Yes! Our cookies are entirely gluten-free, because the main ingredients are sesame seeds.
Are naanu cookies vegan?
Yes, our cookies are all vegan.
How did the naanu cookies come to be?
Our Founder, Julia, experienced the need for taking tedious conventional supplements which she hated. At the same time she was disappointed with the lacking dessert choices for her new plant-based diet. After interviewing other vegans and finding out that they also struggled to take the required supplements she started naanu. She wanted to create an enjoyable experience for people to take their required nutrients - cookies!
